This small condominium is home to a wonderful collector of art by the likes of Frank Stella, Jasper Johns, John Baeder and Andy Warhol. The challenge here was to give the illusion of a more voluminous space, no small feat considering the standard eight foot ceilings in this vintage 1950’s building. We maximized door heights and even increased the size of base moldings, which created a taller impression upon entering. Classical ceiling moldings were applied and even window sills were finished in honed limestone. J. Robert Scott’s soft contemporary furnishings, rich textiles and kidskin leather added the proper luxurious and comfortable touches. (Published KC Design)
